5Really excellent toaster!
By Happy Shopper
This toaster does exactly what it says it will on the box. It gives perfect results whether using one slot or all four. It keeps the toast warm for a few minutes rather than popping it out, which in a busy kitchen at breakfast time is such a good idea. The only thing I need mention is that it doesn't like the tall 'Warburtons Toastie - Kingsmill' size of bread. Even taking that into consideration I still feel it deserves all 5 stars. Expensive, but as the previous reviewer said...you get what you pay for!!

2Honest review, looks are not everything!
By ali, germany
We have had a dualit toaster for well under two years now. Have had many other makes in the past and none have ever failed , we just got bored and changed them to match updating the kitchen instead. None were ever over £45 and all toasted perfectly. enter Dualit into our world. Fell in love with the iconic design and decided we had to have one,the family all thought I was mad but after a bit of saving we were the proud owners of a shiny new 4 slice toaster that cost nearly four times the last one from tefal. Not to worry I say, it will last for years and years, !!Almost immediatly it started burning just the third slice, rang dualit to be told this is normal, try heating it up on a first run then putting the toast in, it did not help but still toasted so put up with it. Then just after the twelve month warranty the timer stopped working half way through which meant the toast just sits in the toaster until you come along and manually remove it, set the smoke alarm off several times before the whole family got that it was broken. Upon research on the net it appears a very common problem as the spring apparently nearly always goes and you will have to replace it. Dualit customer services are quite frankly the worst I have ever come across in my life. It cost £ 12 to return plus just under £50 to repair the timer, yes £50 !!! When you have paid this much you have no choice but to repair it.I also spoke to a friend who had the toaster timer go on hers whilst in guarentee and they do not even reimburse the postage then , real cheek on such a heavy item. If you feel you must have one then go ahead but I could not recommend it in any way and it certainly does not toast any better than a much cheaper make, it purely looks good and that my friends is it !!

4Bulky and over priced but a quality toaster
By Chris WRIGHT
On the down side it's got a bigger 'footprint' on my kitchen worktop than pretty much any other 4 slice toaster. It is also pricey - you are largely paying for the style and the name. But it works well, and the design features have been carefully thought through, so much so, that I'm hoping this will be the last toaster I ever buy. The heating elements do not have exposed wires - all of my previous toasters went pop when carbonised toast shorted them out, so hopefully that will not be a problem here. Additionally, the heating elements are replaceable (have a search, and you'll find them very reasonably priced), so even when they do inevitably go, I won't have to scrap the whole toaster. Being able to choose how many slots you want to heat is great, as is the ability to have a quick peak at the toast without interrupting the timer.
