Yes it looks lovely, however thats where it ends, everything else is downhill from there on.Hot water comes out the spout so be careful it is easy to get scolded, I have on a few occasions. also you will not be able to touch the bird as its too hot, so you have to wait a bit before you can pour.It is well over priced! if the element goes, throw it in the bin, it cannot be changed, its a sealed unit! and kiss goodbye to £139.00, mine only lasted 8 months, Alessi refused to honour their guarantee as it had some limescale on it, despitethe fact I only used filtered water and a wire de scaler. I had given this kettle more care than any other kettle.I only have myself to blame as I must be a fool to spend so much on a kettle, there are far cheaper models that are much better.I sent my back to Alessi in London, the manager was quite rude, the kettle was not working, it was my fault! , even though he is not an engineer, and not 100% sure, it was still my fault that it was not working. when I told him about all the other customers that had the same problem, he said they don't know how to look after a kettle either, he went on further to say his kettle was always spotless free of limescale. Well if you buy an Alessi better keep it spotless or you run the risk of it breaking down, and it won't be replaced under guarantee as its all part of their marketing ploy.Thank You the Manager at Alessi London, shame about the poor customer service , after paying so much!. The last Alessi Product I will buy ever again! Well done you!

I LOVE Alessi products and have done for many years. We have quite a few Alessi items, mostly in our kitchen. This kettle is brilliant, it looks great and functions well. If I have any issues with it they would be a few design changes that I think would make it even better - #1 a window so you can see the level of water - #2 I would love the bird stopper to whistle like on the hob version - Alessi have missed a trick with that one!

In spite of poor reviews on this site, I went ahead and purchased an Alessi Kettle back in October as a present for a friend who is a designer and a great admirer of Alessi products. Sad to say, the reviews were correct and after a few days the kettle proved to be faulty as the on/off switch did not stay on. Needless to say the kettle has been returned with a request for refund rather than replacement. At £139, the product was not inexpensive, and one would have expected better quality from Alessi. I would not recommend this product to anyone.
